Today’s Nintendo Direct revealed a number of interesting tidbits, including the fact that five beloved classics will be coming to the North American Nintendo eShop later this year.
Possibly the most iconic of these releases will be Super Mario Bros. 3, which will be coming to the Wii U and 3DS virtual console before the end of the year. A specific release date has yet to be announced.
The two other major titles announced were Wario Land 3, and the NES version of Donkey Kong. Wario Land 3 will be available on the eShop beginning August 29. Donkey Kong is currently available on the Wii U as part of the eShop’s Famicom 30th anniversary promotion, but will be made available on the 3DS on August 15.
The classic offerings are rounded out by NES sports game, Tecmo Bowl, and the Japanese arcade shooter, Summer Carnival 92: Recca. American football fans will be able to download Tecmo Bowl this fall. No release date was announced for Summer Carnival 92: Recca.
