PopCap has revealed new details regarding its upcoming multiplayer title Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare, which combines third-person shooting with its signature tower defense elements.
Multiplayer modes will have 24 players where the Plants will face off against Zombies, who are now playable characters as we reported earlier.
Co-op will be available with four players online where you will hold your ground against zombie hordes and bosses. There will also be a local two-player co-op mode. It’s unclear yet whether or not two players sharing the same console may join an online match or not.
Because Garden Warfare is a timed exclusive for the Xbox One and Xbox 360, it will boast Kinect and SmartGlass features. They will be integrated in the newly announced Boss Mode, which has you commanding your forces from Crazy Dave’s RV or Dr. Zomboss’ blimp. There will additionally be two exclusive multiplayer modes for the Xbox One.
Players can also deck out their own Plants and Zombies with hundreds of unique customization options.
