Microsoft has released new story details and screenshots from the recently announced Ori and the Blind Forest.
Ori and the Blind Forest is an action-adventure platformer, which will combine “exploratory gameplay “alongside a “heart-wrenching emotive narrative”. The title will be developed on the Unity Engine, combining beautiful visuals with a cinematic score.
The titles narrative will introduce players to Ori, the last spirit guardian as he discovers the mysteries of a dying forest while escaping the evil clutches of Kuro, the dark owl. Players must traverse the environment while combating Kuro and completing in-game puzzles, to help Ori save the blind forest.
Ori and the Blind Forest is being developed by Microsoft first party developer Moon Studios, which was founded in 2010 by Thomas Mahler (former cinematic artist at Blizzard Entertainment) and Gennadiy Korol (former senior graphics engineer at Animation Lab).
Ori and the Blind Forest will release this fall for Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC.
