A few months ago, Ubisoft made it pretty clear that Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag will not feature naval combat amongst gamers via its multi-player portion. Even so, if our prediction based on a recent interview is correct, the next iteration of Assassin’s Creed might include this tantalising option.
Speaking to GameSpot in a recent interview, creative director Ashraf Islamil stated the following – “Naval multi-player, unfortunately, we don’t have it. It’s something we tried at the beginning, but we didn’t feel we can get it to a good enough level for this iteration.”
“For this iteration” sounds pretty interesting. We do know for a fact that Ubisoft already has two more Assassin’s Creed games in the works, and seeing as the naval combat was one of the most acclaimed feature in Assassin’s Creed III, we wouldn’t rule out the possibility of expanding it even beyond AC IV: Black Flag, that including multi-player battles.
How about it then? AC IV is already making naval combat and exploration a very big deal with its open world nature which doesn’t include any loading times between land and sea. What would they possibly add in another entry to keep it fresh, alongside the rumoured multi-player feature? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
