Superior Spider-Man #14

That is what you call getting the job done. Dan Slott has once again shown why it is that Otto is different from Peter, what lengths he will go to right a wrong and how much more he can do for the world when he applies his brainpower. Love him, hate him, you just can’t argue that again he’s doing what has to be done when no one will.

If there was any reason for the public to love Spider-Man more, it was for his actions in this issue alone. It’s not just about random heroics, it’s showing that they pay attention to the people’s needs. Needs which have been ignored which is why so many heroes have been in Shadowlands yet never put an end to the corruption there. If there was ever a time for someone to act upon that corruption, this was the best time and Slott took the perfect opportunity to do so.

I found it very shocking to see all the machines, vehicles, and Spider-Patrol who just stormed in and took control. It almost looked like something out of Star Wars which is great to think of at a time like this. It may be odd for Spider-Man, but for Otto this is very cool.

This is a great transition from the conflict at the Rift because you really start to see that Slott put thought into this story. You’d almost forget about the Goblin King and then you realize with everything Otto is doing now, he’s just making room for the Goblin King to take over. I think when he makes his move finally it should be something pretty awesome because he seems to equal him in both tactics and intelligence.
