All New X-Men #15
Love is in the air and that’s both a good and bad thing. It’s a change from what we have seen before and I feel that it’s something to appreciate. With all the action and conflict that came with the original X-Men’s arrival, it was inevitable that they would start to explore different courses of action than the ones they are meant to take.
Like I have said about Uncanny X-Men, it’s welcome when you can have those issues where things are down to Earth. It’s cool to see them be superheroes, but it’s nice to also see them as people. That is what we got here as their time in the present seems to be influencing their love lives. Being from the past they were only really exposed to each other and without the walls of the X-Mansion to make sure they had those connections, you see them going off in different directions. Again something to be expected knowing that we should be seeing why they should not remain in this time period.
As a lead up to Battle of The Atom, I say that this makes the event clearer. We already know that the X-Men of the future come to the present and it’s because of the original X-Men’s presence in the present. While this was a heartwarming story, you can already see how it has direct consequences, mainly noticeable when Hank kissed Jean and you could see the line of Beasts in the background. This indicates that it could have some impact on his mutations, if he even has them at all.
