As all good things must come to an end, so does 2013. Nevertheless, this past year will sure go down as one of the more impressive ones in our industry. Not only did the 8th generation of gaming begin, but 2013 also saw the release of yet another batch of overly impressive titles, which are sure to amaze pretty much everyone.
Analog Addiction’s first gaming award is related to Sony’s PlayStation Vita, and Nintendo’s 3DS. First, let’s take a look at the Vita. The following five titles manged to impress us the most:
- Persona 4 Golden (Europe release)
- Thomas was alone
- Hotline Miami
- Guacamelee!
- Tearaway
And the winner is…
Tearaway
“Tearaway is arguably one of the best PlayStation Vita games the system has to offer. It’s not only a great game, but it’s also a showcase for just how unique the Vita is as a gaming device. It remains to be seen as to whether it’ll be a system seller, but it certainly is the Vita’s absolute killer app.” You can check out the rest of our review, here.
Now, it’s time for the 3DS to shine. The following five titles are the best 2013 saw:
- The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds
- Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon
- Fire Emblem Awakening
- Pokemon X/Y
- Shin Megami Tensai IV
And the winner is…
The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds
A Link Between Worlds might not be the most revolutionary Legend of Zelda title, but pretty much everyone agrees that – due to its perfected gameplay mechanics – this is an absolute treat to gamers. If you’ve got a 3DS, then this is one title you shouldn’t miss.
