In a Nintendo Direct broadcast earlier today, Nintendo revealed they are allowing Wii U owners to try out Wii Fit U in its entirety for a full month.
From Nov. 1 through Jan 31. 2014, players can download Wii Fit U from the Wii U eShop and access to every part of the game, including 77 activities, 19 of which support the GamePad. The trial will begin from the moment you first play the game.
However, players must have a Wii Balance Board in order to play the game.
If you wish to keep all of the progress you’ve made in the trial version and keep the full version of Wii Fit U, Nintendo is allowing players to purchase Fit Meter for the game at a $19.99 price tag. The Fit Meter, which comes in black and silver colors, will be available on the same day Wii Fit U releases on the eShop on Nov. 1.
The Fit Meter also works outside the game as a handy pedometer. It not only measures the numbers of steps you’ve taken in a day, but it takes how you took the steps into account by measuring if you walked, ran, climbed a flight of stairs or traveled up a hill. This data may then be transferred to the GamePad wirelessly.
If you want to wait and purchase the game separately, Wii Fit U will be available and packed with a Fit Meter on Dec. 13 while the eShop download on Feb. 1, 2014.
