Conan And The People of The Black Circle #1
Assassins, dark magic, beautiful noblewomen, what more could you ask for? Conan and the People of the Black Circle is an exciting journey as the Devi looks for the Black Seers who took the life of her brother, the king. And who does she trust this task to? None other than Conan the Barbarian, that is if he wants to keep his men from being hanged.
As I said before what we got a lot of was Assassins, dark magic, warriors, barbarians, and a lot of action. All things that make this worth reading if you are a fan of Conan. The mystic elements of this story are what makes this so interesting. They have their own rules, and of course around this time magic was something to be feared. No one is really safe in this world, chaos always trying to fight against order that the royals set forth. The emphasis on this and the process by which they follow and who the _ serves was all a part of what made the writing for this so engaging. The diplomacy as well considering we aren’t dealing with just people who want to tear each other limb from limb. Setting up the story and allowing you to understand what threat they face.
Overall it is a fun start to a great adventure. It looks amazing as well, having a style that looks digitally painted. Everything stands out and the characters are very detailed. It has a lot of potential if it keeps up with this momentum and pacing. The twist at the very end is one you really don’t see coming and just another reason why you want to keep following this story if you have picked it up. I recommend this book if you are either a fan of Conan, or just love something that you know will deliver on action, with a bit of mystic elements taking focus.
