IRON MAN #18 REVIEW

Iron Man #18

Since last we saw Arno and Tony speak of plans for the future, Iron Man #18 takes us 30 years into the future to see how that plan turns out for them. Of course not literally, but you get the idea as they are working towards progression. Kieron is really taking this story to the next level and a more focused Tony and Arno is the best path to take towards that.

Where there was much emphasis on this big secret that Tony is keeping, now we know it’s 451′s body. We all figured that Ton would have use for it, but this is something to a larger extent. It’s exciting to see Tony back in his element, and all he needed was that one resource which provided him with all the knowledge he’d ever need. That is not to say that this is a good thing because anything can go wrong. It seems that Kieron is trying very hard to emphasize this knowing that technology can have a way of making things difficult for you as that simulation showed.

None the less it’s interesting to see that even in death the Mandarin still has some importance to Tony’s story. Especially for there to now be what we can assume is a new Mandarin even though she only has one ring. I mean what’s great about this woman is that she actually poses a threat to Tony due to her difference in opinion of the world and how he sees it.

Paul Rivoche makes this story look just as sleek and clean as the last story arc. Between the use of highlights, coloring, and great amount of detail put into everything technological.

This was an excellent start of a new chapter in the lives of Tony and Arno Stark. Seeing that there is a legitimate focus for the world and seeing a glimpse of what could possibly be the future of Earth if they succeed without the failure the simulation predicted. If you are not following this story then this is a good time to see something new from Tony.
